Lloyd Broley

As an experienced IT Professional, my work has resulted in numerous important business process changes such as a configurable and reportable roadmap system to track ongoing projects and task management applications. My problem-solving skills have provided companies with fresh ways to find solutions and my ability to develop stakeholder relationships has resulted in an increase in departmental cooperation. Having successfully implemented and supported Dynamics 365 over 3 phases. I am now looking to take on a consultancy role to support clients through their own journey.

Experience

Dynamics 365 Consultant

Universities Superannuation Scheme, Liverpool

Developing alongside the business requirements, I recognised an opening for a companywide process that could be dropped into Dynamics. This was a calendar of scheduled events that was previously managed with spreadsheets. Using workflows and business rules I was able to implement this custom solution and reduce administration from 3 people down to 1 and improved response efficiency by 40% with metrics gathered using Power BI.

As the largest academic pension scheme in the UK, USS serves over 400,000 members at over 350 institutions so a manageable solution was required. Over the course of 18 months I have been involved in the business planning, design and implementation of Dynamics to assist in maintaining a positive customer relationship by customizing the core solution to make a streamlined experience:

  • Managed development from project planning, customization and configuration, user testing, and deployment across multiple environments over multiple project phases bringing in new functionality each time.
  • Quickly developed knowledge of standards & best practices. Used this to reconstruct existing prototype into a standardised and sustainable product.
  • Worked with stakeholders to understand their needs and manage expectations in a positive manner, sometimes finding solutions without any custom coding.
  • Met with key users regularly during development to ensure look and feel was on a consistent path, utilising non-technical feedback to better tailor the solutions, to be as front-end user friendly as possible as well as presenting demos to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts of preference and interest when implementing new ideas or solutions, providing easy to understand rationales to my decision making, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical clients by taking requirements and ideas, building mock-ups and explaining limitations and possibilities.
  • Utilization of out of the box workflows and business flows to develop a new and unique solution for an existing business need that required streamlining.  This enabled more accurate reporting of over £10m in contributions allowing the business to drill down into their data and provide trend analysis.
  • Fully configured the marketing app for use for corporate training client facing, creating portals, configuring web pages, and setting up marketing lists using 3rd party tool DotDigital.
  • User and admin training and knowledge article creation. I am routinely holding user workshops which detail hands on how to use Dynamics efficiently and effectively in a test environment from setting up complex reports to integrated Power BI Dashboards.
  • Monthly walk in user forums where I created and delivered training to a range of teams within the business including end users, other technical teams, and fellow admins. I then compile the ideas and send out reports to the core stakeholders. In this instance, I created a custom internal roadmap that feeds directly into Power BI and Dynamics that shows publicly what we are working on.

Technical Systems Support

Universities Superannuation Scheme, Liverpool

Responsibilities:

  • To fully support and implement the Dynamics 365 project from Project planning through design to customisation and configuration. The end result was a customised experience, for business end users.
  • To review and streamline of existing processes that were outdated. To develop more efficient ways of running daily, weekly, monthly tasks. An example of which was taking the existing IT roadmap of upcoming upgrades and patches, creating a unique solution that allows users to create, update, edit and delete upcoming tasks. This also had an API that was able to plug into any reporting software such as crystal reporting and Power BI. This has allowed more refined metrics to be taken and a true analysis of workload to be shown.
  • Support of 3rd party stakeholder management and software lifecycle management. Keeping up to date with existing suppliers’ licencing models and providing current user base statistics to drive best renewal decisions. Understanding the current usage of our key systems allows us to project future usage and save money on unallocated licences.
  • Data migration and manipulation. During the initial phase of Dynamics, I was tasked with cleansing all of our raw data we held on institutions. I used SQL to map out the raw files into a more comprehensible format and provide a single source of truth that was then mapped into Dynamics.
